Workforce Singapore, working with the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), has launched a new programme that will help companies implement HR technology.

The programme, called the HR Tech Transformation Programme (HRTTP), aims to support the adoption of HR tech solutions through process re-engineering, redesigning of jobs, and change management.

The HRTTP was announced on 25 November 2021 by Senior Minister of State for Manpower Zaqy Mohamad at a virtual event attended by C-Suite and HR leaders across various industries.

Mr Zaqy also announced an HR Job Redesign Toolkit at the event.

The HRTTP targets to benefit 50 enterprises and over 250 local HR professionals from SMEs and non-SMEs.

With strengthened HR processes and redesigned HR roles, HR professionals could spend more time addressing strategic HR issues to meet organisation’s business objectives while leveraging HR technology to enable a positive employee experience and enhanced connectivity through online delivery of HR services,” stated WSG and SNEF in a joint release.

Successful Pilot Programme

The launch of the programme follows a pilot that began in March 2020 where 10 companies participated, of which five were SMEs.

According to WSG and SNEF, the pilot programme enabled the companies’ HR to implement various technology solutions such as mobile learning, digitised employee data collection, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Results from the pilot indicated higher productivity, time- and cost-savings. The programme also allowed close to 70 local HR professionals, of which 25 per cent were mature workers, to take on higher-value job roles, like data analytics and designing employee experience strategies.

Mr Zaqy said that the Government will continue to assess the programme, and if suitable, scale it up further to allow more companies and workers to benefit in future.

HR Job Redesign Toolkit

Meanwhile, the HR Job Redesign Toolkit is an interactive self-help tool to guide companies in their job redesign effort.

Companies will learn job redesign methodology and change management through templates from the toolkit. It will also allow HR professionals to better understand the type of technological tools that can be applied to suit different HR practices, said Mr Zaqy.

Both the HRTTP and HR Job Redesign Toolkit were part of the recommendations under the Ministry of Manpower HR Industry Transformation Manpower Plan and HR Jobs Transformation Map (JTM).
